Telenor Bulgaria has named Spas Velinov as its new Chief Technology Officer who takes over the role from Vladimir Radojicic who now leads the newly formed company CETIN Bulgaria.
Spas Velinov is a telecom professional with 25 years of industry experience. He has been part of Telenor since 2003 and has taken several senior management roles within technology planning, technology engineering, and most recently, leading the Sourcing and Logistics division. He was also at the forefront of some of the most complex and transformational projects in the company’s history. He is the first CTO to have been appointed from within the ranks of the organization.
“Spas has been an influential figure at Telenor in the last several years and he also brings extensive telecommunications knowledge with him along with many years of experience in our company. I extend a warm welcome to him in his new executive level role within my team”, said Jason King, Telenor Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Velinov is a graduate of the Technical University of Sofia, holds a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, and an MBA in General Management from the University of Sheffield.
