Telenor Bulgaria wins Bulgarian PM Awards 2021 for Social and Corporate Responsibility Project

Telenor Bulgaria won the Bulgarian PM Awards 2021 "Social and Corporate Responsibility Project" award for its long-standing Open Mind program for professional development and social integration of people with different abilities.

Bulgarian PM Awards 2021 aim to honor true project management leaders. Telenor received recognition in the category for the best projects in the field of social responsibility and those for the benefit of the society.

Our Open Mind program represents the long-term commitment of Telenor to not only enable people with disabilities to become more competitive in the labor market, but also to involve other business in this cause." said Radostina Todorova, Telenor’s Open Mind project leader.

The Open Mind program enables people with different abilities to develop their social and functional skills, to help them be more competitive and improve their qualifications. In 2020, Telenor launched the sixth edition of the program. For two years participants have the opportunity to gain experience and learn from the best professionals in Telenor in real working environment, thus building confidence in their future career development. After the completion of the program, Telenor provides support for the further professional realization of the participants in the labor market, and some of them may receive a job offer from Telenor and join the team permanently.

As an additional activity under the program, Telenor has for three consecutive years realized workshops for representatives of the responsible businesses aimed at knowledge and best practices exchange in the implementation of such programs. More than 60 companies have participated in the knowledge sharing workshops until today. In 2020 Telenor launched the Open Mind Academy. A series of free, open to all online trainings to improve professional skills for people with different abilities.

The Open Mind program for people with disabilities is part of Telenor's corporates responsibility strategy. A total of 24 participants in the program throughout the years have worked in numerous fields and departments in the company, including "Process Management", "Legal Relations", "Human Resources", "Marketing" among others. Telenor Bulgaria has offered a contract to six of them after completing their participation in the program and who are part of Telenor Bulgaria team today.

PMI Bulgaria Chapter organized for the first time the annual Bulgarian PM Awards aimed at recognizing professionals and their achievements in the field of Project Management in Bulgaria and to honor the true leaders in the profession who change the world project by project, while serving as an example for success for the next generation of project and product managers. The projects in the competition were evaluated by the PM Awards team and an international jury.

"With these awards we want to honor the best professionals in project management and their achievements for 2020," ,the awards organisers said.
