Telenor to donate funds for the equipment of new intensive care unit at Pirogov Hospital

Telenor will donate fund for purchasing of critical medical equipment for the new intensive care unit where coronavirus patients will be treated at Sofia’s Pirogov Hospital.

After consulting with the management of Pirogov Hospital, Telenor will donate the funds required for purchasing of 15 intensive care beds, 45 infusion pumps and 15 monitors for the new ward.

“In such a difficult time, medical professionals and medical establishments need the active support of the society and we would like to thank Telenor for their help in the preparation of the new ICU at Pirogov Hospital. It will allow us to provide even better care for the most vulnerable victims of the pandemic. I would also like to appeal to all Bulgarians: please, strictly follow the rules for prevention of infection”, said Pirogov Hospital chief executive, Prof. Dr. Asen Baltov.

“The Telenor team would like to thank all medical professionals who are on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic. We hope our donation will will assist them in their noble, life-saving efforts”, commented Telenor Chief executive officer Jason King.

The donation by Telenor is part of the company’s effort in support of the fight against the COVID19 epidemic and amounts to some BGN 200,000.

Telenor asks all of its clients to join the fight by following on the company’s appeal to Stay At Home. The company already offered all of its customers 1000 call minutes to all Bulgarian networks, 10000 МВ of mobile data and access to all of its digital service free of charge to assist them in meeting the challenges of social isolation and also to help them communicate with their loved ones, manage their business and get the information they need

The company also strongly recommends its alternative self-service channels as a way to reduce the risk of infection.
