Telenor joins the #beatEwaste green initiative

– Telenor has joined the #beatEwaste initiative by participating in the UN Global Compact’s first campaign aimed at collecting unnecessary electrical and electronic appliances. The campaign’s main goal is to engage employees by making it easy to responsibly hand over obsolete and non-functioning devices for recycling and will end on 15th of October.

Telenor has placed additional containers for employees in its HQ to hand over small home appliances, audio and video equipment and other devices. The funds raised from the returned and recycled equipment will be donated to an environmental cause.

„Telenor has a consistent and sustainable policy for e-waste management and nature preservation. Every element of our activities is designed to be compliant with the most innovative and up-to-date environmental practices. This result-oriented approach further motivates us to continue to be an example in every socially significant cause, making us environmentally responsible not only as a company, but as consumers as well”, Adriana Popova, Senior Corporate Communications Advisor, said.

Environmental sustainability is an important part of Telenor's social policy. In 2019, the company handed over seven tons in electronic waste, including mobile phones, accessories, computer peripherals, batteries, doubling the volume of e-waste handed over in the year before.
