Bulgarian celebrities support Safer Internet and Digital Literacy campaign by Telenor

Popular among adolescents singers, actors and vloggers join the Safer Internet and Digital Literacy campaign by Telenor. The telecom has asked ten of the most influential among the youth people to share the most provocative comments they have received on their social networks through short videos.

The campaign "It’s up to you" (От теб зависи) is held on the occasion of the International Safer Internet Day – February 6 in cooperation with the Bulgarian Safer Internet Center and Vbox7.com video-sharing platform.

Today, at exactly 1:30 p.m., the videos will be posted on the Facebook profiles and the official channels of each of the campaign participants as well as on www.ottebzavisi.net. The celebrities include the singers Preya, Venzy, Victoria Georgieva, Angel (Ogi 23), Mino Karadzhov, Ivan Tishev and Nadia Petrova from the web series „Ne taka, Brat!“, as well as the vloggers Mona from Sex Lafche in Vbox7.com, Emil Conrad, Boryana Stefanova, and Tsuro.

At the campaign website the celebrities will also share their tips on how to deal with challenges and provocations on various topics such as communication with strangers, racial harassment, sexting, fake news, identity theft, virtual wars, ego, etc. They will ask us to be more careful on the Internet and to abstain from online hate.

At a special event today which is traditionally held on the Safer Internet Day, Telenor awarded the winners of the last edition of Cyber Scout program - students from 79th High School Indira Gandhi, Sofia, with tablets. Together with the participants from the towns of Plovdiv and Pazardzhik, they received certificates on behalf of the Chief Directorate "Combating Organized Crime".

The Cyber Scout program is held for a third consecutive year and is aimed at raising awareness of students and teachers about the risks on the Internet and ways of overcoming them.

Telenor actively supports the initiatives related to ensuring the safest internet experience possible. Among them are Social Networks Glossary for Parents and Online Bullying Handbook. Telenor was the first telecom company in Bulgaria to launch a filter that blocks web domains containing child sexual abuse materials.
