The Bulgarian representatives to the international initiative Telenor Youth Forum 2017 are Iva Gumnishka and Iva Tsolova. They won Telenor Bulgaria’s annual contest on the Digitalization for Peace topic.
The competition was held in two stages and participants were asked to present their ideas for positive changes in the social, economic or environmental spheres. In the second stage, four finalists were invited to defend their candidacy through a video interview. A jury of Telenor Bulgaria, Junior Achievement and WWF representatives chose the winners.
Iva Gumnishka and Iva Tsolova will participate in the international forum which will be held from 8 to 11 December in Oslo during the events surrounding the Nobel Peace Prize award. Telenor will cover all travel, food and accommodation expenses of the two winners. In Oslo, the Bulgarian representatives will meet other young talents from 11 different countries. The delegates will participate in a service design program to create a digital service that tackles a social challenge. In May 2018, the delegates will meet again in Bangkok, Thailand. The solutions they create will be presented in a digital exhibition as a final part of the forum.
Iva Tsolova is one of the founders of JAMBA - an online platform for people with disabilities which offers them the opportunity to gain professional qualification and improve their competitiveness in the labor market through trainings, internships and job postings. She is also a co-founder of an advertising agency supporting social causes as well as a company for development of online platforms and mobile applications. Iva has been a youth delegate to the UN from 2016 to 2017 and a youth delegate to the Council of Europe for 2017. She is the winner of the JCI Bulgaria’s Ten Outstanding Young People Award for 2016 in the Humanitarian and Voluntary Leadership category and a winner in the selection 30 to 30 of Forbes Bulgaria in the Social Entrepreneurship category for the same year. Iva holds a bachelor's degree in European Studies from The University of the National and World Economy and has been part of the Summer Entrepreneurship Program at Babson College - New York, Boston and San Francisco, USA.
Iva Gumnishka is the founder of an outsourcing company with social cause that aims to hire refugees from the Middle East. Iva has completed internships in a number of prestigious institutions and organizations including the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria, the American Coalition for the International Criminal Court in New York, the UN Association for Bulgaria and others. She has extensive experience in research and has participated in projects at the Omar Torrijos Foundation in Panama, the Millstein Center for Global Markets and the Institute of War and Peace Studies in New York, USA. Her voluntary work involves taking part in various initiatives related to the integration of refugees, human trafficking and others in Bulgaria, Spain and the USA. Iva holds a bachelor's degree in Human Rights from Columbia University, New York, USA.
The international Telenor Youth Forum is held for the fifth time as a global initiative for exchanging opinions on the way digital technologies can encourage growth and positive change within the society.
The initiative is part of the Telenor Group partnership with the Nobel Peace Prize Center.
