11 November 2021Telenor introduces a hybrid working model in its Open Mind career development program
For the first time, the seventh edition of the social program includes remote employees with different capabilities
From today six new members with different capabilities join the Telenor Bulgaria family, and for the first time three of them will work remotely, from different parts of the country. This was announced during the official launch of the seventh edition of the Open Mind, social program, which helps people with special needs to develop their skills and increase their competitiveness in the labor market by working on real business projects in different teams of the company.
"For us, Open Mind is not just a social program, but a way of interacting. The pandemic made us realize that we can work, have fun and evolve by integrating technology. We learned that physical distance doesn't necessarily mean social distance and technology is here to help us. That's why this year we decided to develop the program and hire employees from other Bulgarian cities who will work remotely“, said Jason King, CEO of Telenor Bulgaria, when welcoming the new colleagues at the company's headquarters.
The number of new recruits in this year's program is for the first time higher than before. Three of the six recruited have been personally inducted by colleagues in the mobile teams on the ground and will be working remotely in HR, digital marketing and accounting, while the new recruits in the Sofia headquarter will be learning the different aspects of working with external and internal clients.
The two-year program for people with different abilities provides a range of training courses to enhance professional qualifications and work on real business projects, under the mentorship of leading experts in their respective fields and with competitive remuneration. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive support for their professional development within or outside Telenor Bulgaria.
The Open Mind program has been running since 2015 and interest has been growing over the years. So far, a total of 30 people with different abilities have become part of the program, all of them have successfully realized on the labor market, and seven of them have been hired on a permanent contract at Telenor Bulgaria.
Open Mind is among the most sustainable and long-term initiatives of the operator and is an expression of its targeted efforts towards an open and accessible working environment for people with disabilities and the promotion of equal opportunities as a key principle and goal for both business and society.
