Теленор провежда интерактивна онлайн игра за рисковете от споделянето на лична информация в интернет

On the occasion of the International Safer Internet Day – February 7 and as part of the annual joint initiative with the Bulgarian Safer Internet Center, Telenor will introduce a campaign which demonstrates the risks of sharing personal information on social networks.

The Finding Emo campaign is available at www.findingemo.bg and includes questions related to its main character - Emil Dobromirov whose profile is composed on common behavior of young people in the social networks. All willing to participate need to join it by February 14. The participants between 13 and 18 years of age can win prizes provided by Coolpad including smartphone Modena, Torino S, Porto S or Big Boy external battery. The campaign's full terms and conditions are posted on its website.

At a special event today, Desislava Danova, Corporate Responsibility Expert at Telenor awarded the winners of the last edition of Cyber Scout program – students from Geo Milev High School, Stara Zagora, with smartphones. Together with the participants from the towns of Bozhurishte and Panagyurishte, they received certificates on behalf of the Chief Directorate "Combating Organized Crime". The Cyber Scout program is held for a second consecutive year and is aimed at raising awareness of students and teachers about the risks on the Internet and ways of overcoming them.

"Providing a safe environment for our children is, undoubtedly, of greatest importance for us as a society. At Telenor , we strongly believe in this and as a socially responsible company, ensuring child online safety is one of our key priorities," said Mrs Danova.

According to a study conducted by MarketLinks and commissioned by The Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre, for the period of 2010-2016, the average age of children who have started using the internet has dropped from 10 to 7 years of age. On the other hand, parents rarely impose certain rules for the use of Internet and digital technologies and are not aware of all potential online risks. The study also shows that one third of Bulgarian children have interacted with a stranger while being online and about one-fifth of those children have met the people who they first interacted with on the Internet.

Telenor actively supports the initiatives related to ensuring the safest internet experience possible. Among them are Social Networks Glossary for Parents and Online Bullying Handbook. In September 2016, more than 260 Telenor employees met over ten thousand Bulgarian school kids in 60 elementary and middle schools across Bulgaria and educated them on the risks they may encounter online and оn the ways to tackle them. The Be Smart, Use Heart initiative was held in cooperation with the Bulgarian Safer Internet Center. At the end of 2014 Telenor was the first telecom company in Bulgaria to launch a filter that blocks web domains containing child sexual abuse materials.
