Теленор подкрепя ежегодното издание на Зелен форум

Telenor supports the annual initiative National Green Forum organized by Manager magazine for an eight year in a row. This year's event which focused on green investments and good practices of business, government and local authorities, was held under the motto "Eco-innovation and Urban Environment".

The Minister of Environment and Water of Bulgaria Neno Dimov opened the forum. Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality Yoana Hristova also attended the event. Representatives of leading Bulgarian companies, state institutions, media and experts discussed various topics related to the role of business as a driver of global green evolution, as well as policies and solutions for clean air, water and transportation. Moderator of the green forum was Julian Popov, Chief Consultant of the European Climate Foundation for Central and Eastern Europe.

Telenor Bulgaria Chief Corporate & Legal Affairs Officer Irina Vasilevska presented the company’s innovations for sustainable development and the benefits from them to Bulgaria and some of the other 12 markets in which the telecom operates. These include the newly built Telenor network in Myanmar which operates through solar panels, an agricultural solution boosting yields and performing quality control in Thailand and a solar solution that can provide electricity to any household in the remote areas of Pakistan.

"With all of these initiatives, we aim to improve the quality of life and reduce inequality, which in the long run would lead to a better future for all. We are proud that sustainable development is at the heart of our corporate culture and business management and we are pleased to observe the growing number of companies in Bulgaria which devote time and resources to sustainable development," said Mrs. Vasilevska.

The National Green Forum takes place every year with its first edition held in Sofia in 2010. The forum is a platform for presenting good practices, new technologies and promoting the responsible business conduct and the ecological lifestyle in Bulgaria.
