Yes, you can use mobile internet abroad with a number from a subscription program.

You should meet the following criteria:

  • You need to have roaming on your phone;
  • The operator, which services you’ll use, should have roaming agreement with Yettel;
  • You need to have correctly entered settings for using GPRS;
  • The use of data in roaming should be allowed on your phone. This applies for phones with operating systems, which allow such a restriction.

For optimization of your costs, we recommend you use the Travel GoWeb packages – up to 6 times lower prices for GPRS roaming in the Euro Zone and Zone Balkans.

The access to mobile internet is a mobile service available to all customers who have signed a contract with Yettel to use this service.

Depending on your mobile phone’s capabilities, you can restrict the access to mobile internet or to choose to use only Wi-Fi networks.

Please, bear in mind that most smartphones support such a restriction but restriction on behalf of Yettel is not applied.

Possible reasons for additional charging:

  • Being in a no Wi-Fi area but the access to mobile internet has not been restricted from the phone’s menu
  • Settings of an application or a program installed to your phone which require access to mobile internet through the network of the operator and may initiate internet sessions

When installing a new application on your smartphone pay attention to notifications referring to which system settings and functions the application has an access to. Check also currently installed applications on the same access rights.

For example, an access classified in your Android phone, such as:

  • Network communication (full internet access)
  • System tools (change Wi-Fi state, modify global system settings, prevent phone from sleeping, retrieve running applications, write sync settings

is a possible reason for initiating internet sessions, even if you have selected only Wi-Fi networks and stopped the access to mobile internet from the phone’s menu.
